I confess the steps I’ve been taking recently feel a little daunting. The full spectrum of the changes I’ve set into motion didn’t hit me until I saw the new cover for one of the books I’ll be releasing under this name. (I’ll be announcing soon what’s coming, I assure you.) It’s made me feel nervous, scared, and excited all at the same time.
Nothing we do in life is ever easy. If we want to succeed, we have to take the bull by the horns and make it do what we want it to do. I’ve been learning this fact each and every day.
I know that some of my readers/fan base might not like the fact that I’m transitioning some of my books to another name. I’ve built my brand around my other author name for so long, that this might be a hard pill to swallow. But I know this is a step forward I have to take.
This re-branding will make it easier for me to keep track of the various genres I write. Clumping them all together under one name seems to make it difficult for some to determine what my true genre is. This way, it’s defined. Mind you, I still have a few genres that I still have to transition to the original pen names I’d intended for them to be under and ended up publishing under my main author name. Still, that’s a journey for another day.
No matter what happens, I know this is a step in the right direction. It also gives me a chance to make each book better. I’ve learned a lot throughout the five years I’ve been in this business. It’s helped me to learn my craft and make my writing better. Granted, I’m still learning and perfecting it along the way. I’m looking forward to this new step I’ve taken, even though I know it’ll be a little rocky along the way.
